Our esteemed colleague and friend Dr Libby Brateman, Emeritus Professor of Radiology, passed away on Saturday, May 5. Dr Brateman was the first Diagnostic Medical Physicist to join Radiology in the 1980s, laying out a path that many have followed in the field of medical physics. Some of the Physicists in the Physics Division were actually trained by her. She was instrumental in the development of our Diagnostic Physics residency program and became the founding director of the program. Her strive for excellence in clinical physics is remembered by many. She will be missed as a person foremost and as a scientist.
