Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute in Ocala, FL seeking Board Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist

A position is immediately available for a Board Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist at the Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute (RBOI), in Ocala, FL (which is located in North Central Florida). RBOI is ACR accredited and consists of four radiation therapy facilities, with a total of six physicists, nine dosimetrists, two linear accelerator engineers and seven physicians. The physicists are a unified team, with a primary site of responsibility, but also rotate to the other facilities to provide cross coverage. All facilities are within a 30-mile radius. Each facility has its own dosimetrists and physicians. We have ten Varian Linacs, with an iX (OBI) and an EX type machine in each facility. Each facility also has a Philips large-bore 16-slice CT scanner for patient simulation.  All sites run on a unified Mosaiq record & verify database. Treatment planning is performed with the Philips Pinnacle (external beam) and Nucletron Oncentra (HDR) treatment planning computers. HDR procedures include APBI, lung, and GYN. We use SunNuclear QA products for Daily and Patient QA (MapCheck and ArcCheck), and use the OmniPro water tank system for annual QA.

Ocala is a quiet community located approximately 40 miles south of the University of Florida, and 1.5 hours from Orlando or Tampa. It’s famous for its surrounding thoroughbred horse farms, in terrain similar to Kentucky bluegrass. There are plenty of parks and recreational activities and it’s an amazing place for outdoor lovers.

RBOI is looking for a clinically oriented individual, with a minimum of three years experience and eligible for a Florida State License. Applicants should have a minimum of two years experience with Pinnacle, familiarity with Mosaiq R&V, as well as HDR, SRS and SBRT planning experience. We offer an attractive salary based on experience and a generous benefits package, including reimbursement for all licensing and certification expenses, and appropriate meeting/CE costs.
