Dr Manuel Arreola, Vice Chair of Medical Physics, is scheduled to give a webinar for the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) and the Latin American Association of Medical Physics (ALFIM) at 10AM EST on Friday, February 26, 2021. The webinar, titled “Seguridad y Proteccion en salas de Resonamcia Magnetica: Actualizacion”, will be in Spanish.
Dr Arreola’s presentation will cover the various components and instrumentation of modern MR scanners. The biological effects of exposure to magnetic fields and radiofrequency fields will also be covered. In addition, the various safety recommendations for the design and clinical use of MRI suites, as described by the guidelines of the American College of Radiology (ACR) will be covered.
