International Collaboration w/ University of Sao Paulo


The Division of Medical Physics’ collaboration with the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil is official!

Last week, Dr Manuel Arreola, Vice Chair of Physics, and Dr Izabella Barreto, Assistant Professor, travelled to Brazil to formalize the agreement. Participants in attendance at the University of Sao Paulo included Dr Tabacknics, Dean of the Physics Institute; Dr Yoshimura, Director of the Dosimetry Division; Dr Charlas, Dean of Medicine; Dr Costa, Medical Physics Director; and Dr Aoli, Dean of International Affairs.

During the visit, Drs Arreola & Barreto met with students during a Town Hall; participated in a colloquium, toured the facilities, gave seminars, and officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the two Universities.

This very important milestone confirms our effort to improve the health of others through the advancement of the science of Medical Physics by facilitating international collaboration and outreach. We look forward to continuing, and to further enhance, our working relationship with the University of Sao Paulo and we are honored to be part of global collaborations and outreach in medical physics!
