Congratulations to Dr Stephanie Leon, Associate Professor, and her colleague Dr Timothy Olson, who were recently awarded a Utility Patent for their work on Focused Tomography by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This patent will permit significant dose reduction for patients who receive CT scans for limited anatomical regions of interest. The technology involves the use of a novel collimator design and reconstruction methodology, which have already been successfully tested in an early prototype!
