One of our graduates (Brad Beck, UF MS 2000), has notified us of an employment opportunity for a Board Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist. RBOI currently employs six UF alumni! It’s great to be a Florida Gator!

Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute in Ocala, FL seeking Therapeutic Medical Physicist

The Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute (RBOI) is a physician owned private practice and is recruiting a Board Certified Physicist to join our staff of seven physicians, four physicists, eight dosimetrists, and two linac engineers. RBOI has four ACR (American College of Radiology) accredited radiation therapy facilities resulting in 8 Varian linear accelerators, 4 Philips large-bore 16 slice CT scanners, and one Nucletron Flexitron HDR treatment unit. All treatment planning is currently performed in Pinnacle with a transition to Varian Eclipse starting in December 2023. MimVista is used for image fusion, and Mosaiq for the R&V system.  All four facilities work in unison via a unified database and a standard set of procedures. Patient load is typically 40-60 patients per day at each facility. We use SunNuclear QA products and the OmniPro water tank scanning system.

RBOI has two locations in Marion County; one location near downtown Ocala and a second location in southwestern Ocala known as Timber Ridge. RBOI has a facility in Lecanto (Citrus County), and a facility in The Villages (Lake County). All facilities are within a 30-mile radius.

The ideal candidate would be ABR certified with a license to practice in the state of FL.  Applicants in their final year of therapy residency would be considered. For applicants without a state license, Florida has a 2 year physicist in training license available.  This is a 100% clinical position. The physicists routinely rotate through each of the 4 centers keeping a fresh set of eyes on daily operations while being exposed to a wide variety of procedures.

RBOI offers an attractive salary in agreement with the AAPM salary survey and a generous benefits package including 401k, medical/dental/vision insurance. All licensing/certification expenses and appropriate meeting/CE costs are included in the benefits package.
