UF Medical Physics is incredibly proud of the 2024 Richard L Morin, PhD, Fellowship in Medical Physics Awardees: Colin Schaeffer, PhD and Zahra Razi, PhD! Drs Schaeffer and Razi both graduated from the UF Medical Physics Graduate Program.
Dr Schaeffer was awarded his MS in 2020, followed by his PhD in 2023. His dissertation was titled “Automated Differentiation of Blood and Iodine in Stroke Patients“. He is currently a 1st year diagnostic medical physics resident at Henry Ford Health in Detroit.
Dr Razi was awarded her MS in 2018, followed by her PhD in 2023. Her dissertation was titled “Design and Fabrication of a Novel MRI Phantom Using Hydrogels for Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging (qMRI)“. She is currently a 1st year diagnostic medical physics resident at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
The Richard L Morin, PhD, Fellowship in Medical Physics, provides one or two medical physics residents the opportunity for hands-on experience with the American College of Radiology. Morin fellows will interact with College staff and gain governance experience with fully funded attendance of the 2025 ACR Annual Meeting. In addition, the ACR will fully fund one week in Reston, Virginia, in the Fall of 2024, during which the Fellows will meet College staff across departments and projects. Fellows will earn a stipend of $500 paid upon publication of an article or completion of a project.
