The Society of Directors of Academic Medical Physics Programs (SDAMPP) has announced board appointments for the upcoming year, which includes multiple UF faculty/alumni representatives:
- Dr Lindsay DeWeese was elected to the Board of Directors as a representative for diagnostic residencies (2025-2027). Dr DeWeese was awarded both her MS (2009) and her PhD (2013) from UF. She is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
- The Board of Directors now includes five UF faculty/alumni including Dr Manuel Arreola who will serve as chairman: Dr Lynn Rill; Dr Stephanie Leon, Dr Lindsay DeWeese; and Dr Shannon O’Reilly. Dr O’Reilly was awarded both her MS (2013) and her PhD (2016) from UF. She is now as Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania.
- Dr Stephanie Leon was also appointed as the Chair of the Membership Committee (2025-2027).
SDAMPP is a society formed to facilitate the interaction of key leaders in academic medical physics programs. We are honored to be part of their vision to promote improved coordination between academic medical physics programs; to foster establishment of best practices; to monitor production of students relative to the job market; to assist new programs getting established; and to serve as a voice for academic program directors.
