Program Leadership
The Medical Physics Graduate Program is administratively housed in the Department of Radiology with the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. In 2024, the UF Medical Physics Graduate Program’s Steering Committee voted to appoint Dr Stephanie Leon as the Director of the program, and Dr Manuel Arreola as the Assistant Director.
The UF Medical Physics Graduate Program’s Steering Committee considers nominations for the position of Director and Assistant Director. Nominations (including self-nominations) may originate from within the faculty or from the Chair of the Department of Radiology (the program’s administrative home). All nominees are required to submit a Letter of Intent outlining their vision for the future of the program, to include financial support, educational endeavors, research initiatives, clinical aspirations, academic enterprises, and administrative support. The Steering Committee interviews all nominees and subsequently votes on the candidate(s). The committee’s selection is then forwarded to the Chair of Radiology for confirmation. If the Chair does not support the nomination, a recommendation for re-consideration will be communicated to the committee.
