Where do I send my transcripts?
Official transcripts must be sent to the UF Office of Admissions from each post-secondary institution attended. If you attended UF as your post-secondary institution, you do not have to order a transcript from the Office of the University Registrar.
International applicants must submit to the Office of Admissions an official copy in the native language of each transcript, mark sheet and diploma/degree certificate from each university or college attended, along with certified, literal (exact) English translations for documents not originally issued in English.

Is there an application fee?
UF’s non-refundable application fee is $30.00. Credit card payments require an additional $7.00 processing fee.
Can I apply directly to the PhD program?
Applicants not holding a MS in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP-accredited university should apply to the MS program, regardless of whether the intended goal is a terminal MS degree or continuation to the PhD program. The MS from a CAMPEP-accredited university is a requirement for admission to the PhD program in Medical Physics.
Is the GRE required?
The GRE is required, however, applicants with a previous graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited US institution may be exempt.
What is an acceptable GRE score and what is the GRE code?
Scoring a 300 or above on the GRE is considered competitive. The UF GRE code is 5812.
Can MCAT scores be submitted in lieu of a GRE score?
No, the MCAT is not approved as a substitute for the GRE.
Is the English Proficiency Exam required?
When reviewing applications from international applicants, the Office of Admissions considers the characteristics of the national system of education, the level of studies completed, the quality of achievement, the type of institution attended, and the suitability of preparation for the proposed program.
UF requires proficiency in spoken and written English and accepts the results of the TOEFL and the MELAB or the IELTS. The University’s TOEFL code is 812. Minimum scores acceptable for admissions are: TOEFL: 550 (paper test); 80 (internet based); IELTS: 6; MELAB: 77; Please note that the TOEFL ITP is not accepted for admission purposes.
International applicants are exempt for the English proficiency requirement if enrolled for one academic year in a degree-seeking program at a recognized/regionally accredited university or college in a country where English is the official language prior to your anticipated term of enrollment at UF, or if you are from one of the eligible countries.
Is there any type of funding available?
Please note that the UF Medical Physics Graduate Program does not provide any funding in the form of assistantships or scholarships to newly admitted students. Incoming MS students are expected to apply for financial aid or fund themselves for the duration of their MS studies. MS students will be required to secure financial aid or personal funds sufficient to cover all applicable tuition and fees.
Additionally, funding is limited for prospective students applying for direct admission into the PhD program (applicants with a Master’s degree from a CAMPEP-accredited program). External PhD applicants, including those applying to the Professional PhD Track, are encouraged to discuss their potential admission with the Program Director in advance of submitting an application.
Is research experience necessary?
Research experience is not a requirement for applying or being admitted to the program.
Is clinical experience obtained?
No clinical experience is obtained during MS or PhD studies. Per the American Board of Radiology (ABR) guidelines, clinical experience is acquired during residency.

Will I be informed of admissions decisions?
Every applicant will be notified of admissions decisions via e-mail5 subsequent to the Admissions Committee making final recommendations. Final recommendations are generally made in April.
