Currently, Dr Nimmagadda works as a faculty member (Research Assistant Scientist) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Florida in Gainesville. His academic journey includes a doctoral degree in Nuclear Science and Engineering, which he earned from Idaho State University. During his tenure at the University of Florida, Dr Nimmagadda has made significant contributions to the cutting-edge field of Nuclear Science, with a particular focus on reactor physics and radiation imaging.
To date, his scholarly endeavors have yielded approximately 16 publications in both international and national peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Furthermore, he boasts a portfolio of two international/national patents and has secured substantial research grants totaling $420,000 as lead investigator. Notably, Dr Nimmagadda has also obtained the Senior Reactor Operator License for the University of Florida Training Reactor nuclear facility.
