Inspired by the fusion of engineering and medicine, Emily’s journey into medical physics began as an undergraduate research assistant during her sophomore year at UF. Under the mentorship of Drs Liu and Maloney, she gained hands-on experience in treatment planning, dosimetry, and phantom creation, solidifying her interest in radiation therapy physics. Following her master’s degree, Emily intends to pursue a PhD in medical physics, complete a residency in therapeutic physics, and launch her career as a clinical medical physicist at an academic teaching hospital.
