Rebecca’s interest in physics and astronomy during high school propelled her to get a degree in astrophysics. Her interest in medical physics began once she learned about the career through a dosimetrist family member. She participated in several conferences where she got the opportunity to speak with medical physicists and learn more about the profession. Once she got her undergraduate degree, Rebecca spent a year working with physicists as a Medical Physics Assistant at Ackerman Cancer Center, where she developed an interest in radiation therapy.
During her free time, Rebecca enjoys reading, writing, playing video games, and keeping up with her favorite shows/movies. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends. She hopes to become a medical physicist and work in a clinic or hospital.
