Join us in welcoming Dr Yawei Zhang to the UF Medical Physics Graduate Program!
As a Medical Physicist at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute with the Department of Radiation Oncology in Jacksonville, Dr Zhang’s current research focuses on developing and optimizing cone-beam CT imaging techniques for IGRT. This research will be extremely beneficial to our graduate students, whose educational and research endeavors will be greatly enriched by the equipment, software, and techniques that they will be exposed to.
Dr Zhang is engaged in clinical responsibilities, academic initiatives, and research endeavors. He is both ready and eager to serve on supervisory committees as both chair or member, and assume teaching assignments. In his role at UF, Dr Zhang is positioned to provide our students with unique educational experiences and research initiatives, many of which have the potential to result in presentations and publications. His research initiatives may also lead to multiple funding opportunities. Dr Zhang is an excellent addition to our faculty and our students will benefit greatly from his credentials and experience.
